Cava in gastropub campaign across London
The Institut del Cava, the Spanish association for Cava producers, has teamed up with 20 London gastropubs for the third year running to encourage Londoners to drink Cava by the glass.
Commencing on May 22, this month-long promotion forms part of the Institut’s ‘Cava Pasion’ campaign, which is a three-year EU and Spanish Government backed campaign to increase awareness of the range, high quality and complex variety of Cava now being produced and how well they go with food.
Each participating Gastropub will be provided with a varied selection of between four to five Cavas sourced from various bodegas in Spain. Consumers will be given two glasses of Cava for every glass they purchase.
Ahead of the promotion, the Institut will be conducting individual tutorials with each Gastropub to ensure that management and staff have a good knowledge about the Cava being supplied.
Consumer awareness will be generated by the individual Gastropubs up-selling the promotion to their customers, along with media coverage in London and lifestyle media
Institut del Cava director Maria del Mar Torres comments: “Cava is a very diverse product with a variety to suit everyone’s taste, and pairs well with food from salads through to desserts so is a great match for the pub’s menus. Against the backdrop of the Gastropub’s pleasant surroundings, a relaxed ambience and great menus, we’re giving Londoners the chance to sample how versatile Cava can be and are confident that we can win them over long-term.”
