Sweden gets first automatic filling line for
Bag-in-Tube wines

Nordic-Sea, based in the south of Sweden, imports different qualities of wines from different parts of the world but especially from Italy. The company, which already supplies wine in Smurfit Kappa Bag-in-Box packaging and its higher qualities of wine in Bag-in-Tube, has decided to invest in a full automatic filling line.

The Bag-in-Box Bib 900 twin head filling machine handles both Bag-in-Box and Bag-in-Tubes. The new modular conveyor line with spot detection enables accurate positioning and perfect insertion of the bag into the tube. The filling head is equipped with a short flow valve with two electro valves fixed directly on the head. These create a perfect tightness and prevent spout distortion. This also extends the shelf life of the wine through a reduction in dissolved oxygen.
Other features include: a compatibility of valve for Compact and Vitop standard; very precise dosing; bag closing without air reintroduction;
an automatic seaming machine for the tubes; and a robot for palletising.
