Quinta do Noval launches easy style port for the modern younger consumer

This month sees the UK launch of the latest – and most ground-breaking - Port from Quinta do Noval.

Already proving a hit in the US, Noval Black, with its contemporary presentation, is a new style of Port designed to explore different drinking occasions and encourage new and younger consumers  – while still delivering the Quinta do Noval character to those already loyal to the brand.

Christian Seely, managing director of AXA Millésimes (the vineyard-owning arm of AXA Insurance) and in charge of Quinta do Noval among other wine estates, says: "I have always wanted to make a Port that would be a clear expression of the Noval style, easily accessible as a wine that could be poured by the glass, with no need to age or decant.  No complications – just a great glass of Port. Anytime and anywhere."

This port, in its strikingly elegant yet contemporary packaging, packs a punch of intensely concentrated grapes bursting with juicy red fruit and sweet spice flavours. It’s a premium wine that should appeal to both traditional Port palates as well as first-time drinkers.  It’s got.

Over the past 15 years, Quinta do Noval has undertaken a massive replanting programme in its spectacular vineyards, perched high above the River Douro, and concentrating on the great noble varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cao among others. Now those new vines are coming on stream, with a wealth of superb vibrant fruit every harvest.

With an rrp of £14.99, Noval Black is available from Gonzalez Byass,  Noval’s  UK agents.
