Packaging update for Champagne Gosset

Champagne Gosset, the oldest wine house in Champagne, Aÿ 1584, has modernised its packaging and labels to bring the brand into line with latest ecological concerns and demonstrate the company's commitment to sustainable development.

The new packaging is bolder and more refined, and achieves the fine balance of reflecting the contemporary style of Gosset, yet conserving its 426-year heritage.

The new labels and boxes are colour-coded and come from sustainably managed forests. The label printers have Imprim'Vert status (the French certification for environmentally sound printing) and the cap foil is from Sparflex using its Green Line process.

One thing that hasn't changed though, is the distinctive shape of the antique-style Gosset bottle introduced with the Grand Millésime 1971 by Albert Gosset. It is still being used for the new-look Grande Réserve, Grand Rosé and Grand Millésime, with red, pink and green coloured livery respectively.

Commenting on the new design, Philippe Manfredini, international director for Champagne Gosset said: "The new packs are fresh and young, with clean distinctive lines and will give maximum on shelf impact."

They will be available in the UK from spring 2011.
