Rob Curteis joins Proximo Spirits UK

Proximo Spirits UK has appointed Rob Curteis as its head of marketing. Curteis’s new role will include responsibility for brand strategy and leading the implementation of marketing activity for all brands in the portfolio.

Curteis has over 10 years of marketing experience working both brand and agency sides. He joins the company from Glenfiddich where he was global marketing manager responsible for rejuvenating the offer, which included implementing the ‘One Day You Will’ and ‘World’s Most Awarded’ campaigns and the creation of the ‘Cask of Dreams’. Curteis was also impressively tasked with leading strategic brand development in overseas markets including the US, Canada, Latin America, Middle East, Africa and Russia.

Dave Steward, managing director of Proximo Spirits UK commented: “We are really pleased to have Rob on board, his wealth of experience in developing brands and implementing effective strategies to provide a greater affinity between brands and consumers will be paramount in our development.”

Curteis adds: “this is a really exciting new challenge and I am looking forward to bringing my past experience and knowledge into this role in order to establish Proximo as one of the leading spirits brand builders in the UK.”

Proximo Spirits UK was launched in July 2013, having established itself over the last five years in the US. Taking inspiration from its name, which translates as ‘next’ in Spanish, Proximo Spirits UK aims to create the same success as its American counterpart, becoming the next major producer of innovative marketing and new product development within the premium spirits category in the UK. Proximo is privately owned and represents 12 premium brands including the Jose Cuervo tequila portfolio, The Kraken Rum, Boodles Gin, Hangar One Vodka and Three Olives Vodka.
