The world's premier rum festival, The RumFest, returns to the capital this October on Friday 10th, Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th October with a fresh look and a new venue.

Friday invites press & industry to the first ever "Rum Experience University On The Road" plus the return of "Boutique RumFest". Saturday and Sunday sees the return of the eighth annual trade & consumer event taking place in the more intimate setting of London's ILEC and will showcase rums from around the world as well as the most premium blends on the market. Masterclasses, seminars, cocktail making and tastings will take rum lovers and newcomers on a voyage of discovery, charting a sea of rum brands and categories to the food, music and culture of the UK's fastest growing spirit. No other event on the rum calendar embraces the passion and culture of rum like The RumFest. For the last seven years the event has grown to new heights along with the meteoric rise in popularity for the spirit, becoming the biggest gathering of rum lovers in the world. Launched by Global Rum Ambassador Ian Burrell and The Rum Experience, 2014's event promises to be the best year yet, returning with plenty of rum-fuelled excitement and innovative new additions that will take The RumFest to the next level.

Friday 10th October will see press & industry invited to a carefully curated rum experience that's never been seen before. Featuring "Rum Experience University On The Road" during the day Ian Burrell will be bringing a bite-size taste of his University from Spain here to the UK. Attendees will be able to get a taste of the four-day intensive course, which takes place on the stunning Andalusian coastline and has become the one-stop-resource for rum professionals and enthusiasts searching for a quality rum education. In the evening celebrations continue with the opening of "Boutique RumFest" where press and VIPs are invited to a very special private event, which provides a valuable platform for new rum brands and celebrates the industry's emerging talent. Included within the price of Saturday and Sunday's RumFest, visitors are invited to try over 400 different blends from around the world with some of the most exquisite rums available to sip, savour and buy. Seminars, masterclasses and workshops will take place across Saturday and Sunday where brands, ambassadors and entire country takeovers will be educating all in attendance about the wonders of this historic, diverse and brilliant spirit. Whether a keen rum enthusiast, all-round spirit lover or new to the category, The RumFest is the first-stop shop enticing all to embrace rum as a lifestyle choice.

In a new move and after the huge success of the last year's Connoisseur's Cove area, organisers will be inviting enthusiasts to delve even further into the world's most premium rums with the all-new 'Golden Tot Tokens'. The more discerning drinker can tread new and unexplored territories, as The RumFest raises the bar by inviting brands to bring their most premium blends, unlocking the door to rum's most exquisite offerings. Tokens can be purchased on the day for a mere £5 that once exchanged will give visitors the chance for this very special exclusive tasting. The super fan will be given unprecedented access to rum's elite with tots that usually retail for over £200 a bottle.

Rum brands from around the world will be heading to the ILEC in October along with the industry's top blenders, mixologists and distillers. Ticket holders can try out new blends, learn how to make cocktails and explore rum's culture with immersive masterclasses, seminars and demonstrations. The RumFest's famous tropical food market takes to the live stage in 2014 with flavours from exotic rum making locations along with rum pairing and demonstrations. Temperatures will also be rising out of the kitchen with a vibrant carnival atmosphere of live music and performances with the chance to kick back after a day of "edu-taining" at the dedicated Carnival Hour. Armed with cocktails, the floor will be filled with live bands, souk dancers and the spirit of rum fully embraced in the ultimate party finale.

The RumFest takes place in London at the ILEC on Friday 10th to Sunday 12th October 2013. Standard tickets are now on sale at £49.95, which include access to all areas of the the event and single measure tastings from the majority of exhibitors. Golden Tot Tokens are £5 each and allow for additional access to the more premium rums on offer. One token can be exchanged for rum retailing £80 - £100 and more expensive rums will be available for additional tokens.
