Chivas Brothers brands boost Pernod profits

Chivas Brothers contributed to the growth in half year sales and profits announced by Pernod Ricard (February 09).  Reinforcing this is the company’s ongoing commitment to its brands as demonstrated by the expansion works currently taking place at The Glenlivet Distillery in Speyside.

The expansion plans, which were announced last year, have been driven by a global increase in demand for The Glenlivet, with the brand continuing to perform strongly in the US, France and the UK with a volume growth of 7% during the first half of the financial year.

The distillery expansion includes the installation of a new mash tun, six new stills and eight new wash backs to accommodate increased production. Work is expected to be completed at the distillery later this year.
