Online wine retailer Wine.com has launched Wine.com Logistics to provide direct-to-consumer fulfilment services to wineries.
The business will operate out of Wine.com's Berkeley, California warehouse and, will leverage Wine.com's scale, service capabilities and eleven-year history of delivering wine by-the-bottle to the end consumer, said a company statement.
Wine.com Logistics will provide value to winery clients by “offering high levels of service at competitive rates,” said the company and will provide “warehousing, pick/pack/ship and call centre support for winery wine clubs and daily orders placed by consumers with wineries”.
Inventory will be owned by the wineries and segregated from inventory owned by Wine.com for its retail business. Wine.com maintains a California ABC Type 14 public storage license in support of these services.
