eWinery Solutions has launched a new donation software for wineries which allows consumers to add additional dollars to their purchases that are designated for specific charitable causes sponsored by the wineries and promoted at the time of wine purchase.
The release of the donation software tool was timed to coincide with the launch of the new Clif Family Winery website that features a "Green My Shipment" option in the shopping cart; this is a simple, inexpensive way to help wine consumers reduce the environmental impact of shipping wine purchased from Clif Family Winery. By voluntarily adding only $0.25 per bottle to their order, they can help to offset the global warming emissions (CO2) generated by the packaging and shipment of their wine.
All of the money collected goes directly to NativeEnergy to help support the Cascade Sierra Solutions Trucking Efficiency Project to help independent truck owners and operators improve fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions and other pollutants generated by ground freight transport.
"When Clif Family asked us to create a solution for their green initiative, we expanded the scope of the project to include the flexibility for all of our winery clients to accept donations through their shopping carts", according to Richard Kline, founder and CEO of eWinery Solutions.
"We currently build and host on a pro bono basis, charity sites for several clients, including Staglin Family Music Festival, IMHRO, Aid Tanzania, and Napa Valley College, so this seemed to be a logical extension of our own charitable efforts."
The feature is currently available to all eWinery Solutions clients.
