Trefethen Double T Chardonnay has been selected as the featured wine for the inaugural launch of the USA Today Wine Club.
Launched in September, the USA Today Wine Club will allow readers and wine consumers to learn about and purchase wines from around the world.
The USA Today Wine Club is operated by My Wines Direct.
“We are delighted that our new Double T Chardonnay was selected by USA Today reader panels for the new wine club,” said Janet Trefethen, president of Napa-based Trefethen Family Vineyards.
“Our Double T Chardonnay is the baby sister of our Estate Chardonnay – a wine with a long and laudable history including victory in the 1979 Paris Wine Olympics and a Gold Medal at the 2009 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, continental Europe’s largest international wine competition.”
The USA Today Wine Club features reader tasting panels throughout the US selecting wines for the club. The quarterly pack features wines sourced by experts and chosen by readers. Each wine is accompanied by tasting notes and interesting facts about the region and varietal, plus a unique recipe to create a meal pairing.
“This is a tremendous opportunity to make wine more approachable to a large national consumer audience,” said Trefethen. “We are very excited about the role this club can play in the continuing development of the US wine market.
