Improved quality and new packaging for Gallo

E & J Gallo Winery has launched 2008 vintages of its flagship Gallo Family Vineyards range in lightweight glass and under screwcap to ensure optimal wine freshness as well as reduce its carbon footprint.

The portfolio, which will be widely available and has a RRP of £5.99 in the UK, has been subject to quality improvements in the vineyard and winery, resulting in greater value, consistency and increased wine quality across the board, the company says

Commenting on the quality improvements in viticulture and winemaking for the new vintage, Cal Dennison, senior director of winemaking for the Gallo Family Vineyards brand, says: “The wine quality has been improved across the range, with significant investment in winery infrastructure leading to vibrant fruit-forward wines, and well integrated-oak ageing of our Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot wines.

"In addition, wine quality has benefited from increased focus in the vineyard in terms of canopy management, harvesting at optimal ripeness and greater emphasis on sourcing premium fruit from our best vineyards.”

The improvement in wine quality coincides with the launch of new packaging for the Gallo Family Vineyards range.

The label has been redesigned to broaden appeal of the packaging and inject a more premium feel to the brand and improve standout, visibility and shelf presence. The move follows extensive consumer research that identified the need to balance tradition and provenance with modernity and a greater emphasis on grape varietals.
