Partnership sees Wine Searcher API release

New Zealand-based Wine Searcher has released an API (application programming interface) in partnership with two leading wine information and technology providers, CellarTracker and Cor.kz. This allows a combined user base of over 700,000 users to locate and price their favourite wines from anywhere and at anytime.

Wine Searcher, the world’s biggest and most used wine search engine attracts over 9 million visitors to its website each year. In 2008, users made 32 million searches on its database of 3.7 million wine offers and viewed 55 million pages of wine information.

“We are excited about this partnership with two highly respected wine content and wine mobile technology stalwarts which ultimately increases value to our respective wine participants" said Wine-Searcher general manager, Adon Kumar.

In this first release of the API, iPhone users who access CellarTracker wine information via Cor.kz iPhone application will now be able to view actual wine prices and stockists with the integration of Wine-Searcher’s 3.7 million wine offers.

Wine-Searcher's API is also available to third-party solution providers and websites enabling them to integrate a Wine-Searcher query into their own applications. Search results are returned in XML allowing the API consumer to format it as they wish.
