PET wine gift packs use cartonboard expertise

Packaging manufacturer Boxes Prestige showcased its ability to transfer its design and production skills from cartonboard to plastic when it produced six different PET gift packs to hold small bottles of Jacobs Creek and Blossom Hill and a wine glass.

The PET GAG sleeve went through a six colour printing process and featured a gloss varnish.

Cartonboard lids were produced on Incada Silk and also went through a six-colour printing and gloss varnishing process, making use of Boxes Prestige’s state-of-the-art pre-press, printing press and UV drying equipment.

The sleeve and lid were placed around a two-piece injection-moulded plastic insert to wrap around the bottle and glass, with a recess at the front and back to allow for easy and secure fitting of the lid.

Boxes Prestige, part of the Clondalkin Group and based in Northamptonshire in the UK, is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of luxury printed folding cartons and specialises in the production of niche premium products for the fragrance, personal care, confectionery and beverage markets.

Gift Pack Company owner Rachel Muter said: “Boxes Prestige worked closely with us on the development of this unique packaging style, and we are extremely pleased with the quality and finish of the packs. Boxes Prestige offer a superb service, from sampling through to finished deliveries. We have built up an excellent working relationship with them, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for cartons in either PET or board.”

Boxes Prestige business development manager Graham Bates said: “We’re well-known for our luxury cartons but these wine gift sets show we also offer our customers the highest possible standards in plastic packaging too.

“We worked closely with our client the Gift Pack Company to create these sets from start to finish, with our design team working up concepts, our pre-press department using wet-proofing techniques to create short-runs to show how the final container would look before the final printing was completed.

“The facilities we have available at Boxes Prestige makes the design and production of a new container a simple process and ensures the final product exceeds customers’ expectations.”
