Rémy Cointreau Global Travel Retail and WDF joined forces last month to stage a high profile promotion in London Heathrow Airport to launch Russian Standard Vodka. A stylish cocktail bar installed in the WDF’s World Duty Free store in Terminal 3 Departures served a selection of refreshing drinks to travellers including Mini Mary, Moscow Mule, vodka and fresh fruit juice and vodka shots. The Russian Standard Vodka bar reflected the bran's heritage with an opulent black and silver decor reminiscent of the palaces of the Russian Czars. Hostesses dressed in elegant black served cocktails, flanked by silver ice buckets and a baroque-style candelabra lamp. Starring in the promotion, which ended on May 4, were Russian Standard Original, Russian Standard Platinum and Imperia. Russian Standard Original was first introduced across all five terminals at the airport in January in 70cl duty paid and one litre duty free formats. . Walter Kooijman, commercial director global DF & APAC for Russian Standard Vodka says: “We are very impressed by the positive response to the promotion at Heathrow. We created real excitement around our vodka and surprisingly good results. Sales of Russian Standard Original were about 300% higher each week of the promotion than in previous weeks since the brand was introduced at the airport. During the promotion consumers were invited to buy two bottles of Russian Standard Original for an attractive discounted price.
