Glenlivet Distillery £10m expansion opened

Chivas Brothers’ new £10 million expansion to The Glenlivet Distillery in Speyside represents a 75% increase in production capacity. The new open-plan building, sympathetically designed to sit alongside the original Grade 2 listed distillery buildings, houses a new mash tun, eight traditional oregon pine washbacks and six copper stills.

To celebrate the opening (by HRH The Prince of Wales) and the appointment of Alan Winchester as the new master distiller this year, a specially created bottling – The Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve. The 21 year old non-chill filtered Scotch will be released in a limited quantity of 1,824 bottles.
