Nomacorc debuts Select 300

Nomacorc, the global producer of alternative wine closures, will unveil its newest product in its high-performance line of co-extruded closures – the Select Series – at the LIWF. Select 300, which provides winemakers with even greater oxygen management control, will make its world debut at the fair. With Nomacorc’s lowest oxygen transfer rate (OTR) commercially available, Select 300 is designed specifically for wines that develop best with low oxygen exposure after bottling.

Tailored to eliminate fault in wines post-bottling and provide solutions for wines with complex oxygen management requirements, the Select Series expands and extends the existing range of OTRs available from previous Nomacorc products. Each product in the series is designed to play a specific role in post-bottling oxygen management, wine preservation and development.

Succeeding the successful launch of the first two Select Series products – Select 700 and Select 500 – Select 300 will be available for delivery worldwide in May and will be followed by the eventual launch of the Select 100. Select 300 has an average OTR of 0.002 in air and will be offered in three lengths (38mm, 44mm and 47mm) and a diameter of 23mm.

“Select 300 is the next iteration in a high-performance product line that has been eagerly awaited and quickly embraced by winemakers,” said Malcolm Thompson, global vice president of marketing and innovation at Nomacorc. “Our newest product advances Nomacorc’s technical capabilities and helps winemakers consistently predict their winedevelopment based on desired sensory profile, anticipated shelf life and other important considerations.”

Representatives from Nomacorc will unveil Select 300 and demonstrate NomaSense equipment on the Erben stand H50.
