Gallo introduces red wine for serving chilled

Gallo Family Vineyards Summer Red has been specifically created to be enjoyed well chilled. Although chilling certain red wines is not a new idea for many seasoned wine drinkers, Gallo claims Summer Red is the first of its kind and it is aimed at a mass market that is relatively new to wine.

Summer Red is a "light, fruity and refreshing" blend of Zinfandel and Pinot Noir with the flavours of raspberry, pomegranate, and cherry. It has a low alcohol content of 10.5%ABV and an RRP of £6.99 – but initially on special offer at £4.99.

It will be available across the UK from Spring 2011 in outlets including Asda, Morrisons, Costcutter, Bargain Booze and Booker, and the launch will be supported by an integrated communications campaign.
