Glenfarclas has released a limited edition single malt bottling to mark the family-owned distillery’s 175th anniversary (43%ABV. RRP £85).
It has been created from 18 casks, three from each of the last six decades, including what was the oldest cask in the Highland distillery’s warehouse – number 1711 from 1952.
While the exact date of the first distillation of Glenfarclas is lost in the mists of time, the granting of the first licence in 1836 is a significant milestone in the distillery’s history and is considered its formal date of establishment.
The design for the gift tube was created using historic labels, some over 100 years old
