Whisky named after master distiller's terrier

Scotch whisky producer Isle of Arran Distillers, has produced a limited edition bottling of 6,000. The Arran Westie, RRP £39.99, will be released globally at the beginning of April.

The single malt was drawn from 22 ex-Sherry Hogsheads from the 1998 distillation by master distiller James MacTaggar, whose West Highland Terrier, Ruaraidh, was the inspiration for this third edition in the Icons of Arran Series.

The first Icons edition, ‘The Peacock’, was named after the distillery’s peacock and the second, ‘The Rowan Tree’, was named after the several species of the tree that are unique to the Isle of Arran.
