New head of buying for The Wine Society

Tim Sykes, buying director at Enotria, has taken over from Sebastian Payne MW at The Wine Society as head of buying. Sykes has worked for many years with The Society’s buying team and already has direct relationships with several of its suppliers. He took up his new role in March. New director off-trade at Maxxium UK

Maxxium UK has appointed Mark Riley as sales director off-trade from 1 April. Riley, the current commercial operations director, takes over responsibility from David Everett, who is to step down after 24 years service. Riley, who joined in 2009 from Beam UK where he was sales director, has 15 years drinks industry experience. Everett will remain at the business until 31 May to ensure a smooth handover.

Rémy Cointreau makes GTR appointment

Rémy Cointreau Global Travel Retail has appointed Anne-Laure Chandesris-Saunier to the role of marketing manager GTR Europe, Middle East and Africa reporting to Simon Roffe, director GTR Europe, Middle East and Africa. She joined the company in early 2009 as international marketing director for Metaxa.
