First bespoke glass bottle for Bofferding beer

A well known continental brewery that will be marking its 250th anniversary next year is also celebrating the arrival of its first beer filled in a customised glass bottle.

Bofferding Brewery, based in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, engaged Ardagh Group to design and produce a 33cl bottle for Bofferding Pils. The distinctively shaped bottle with intricate full body engraving featuring the famous Bofferding “B” is now delighting customers all over the continent.

Ardagh’s designers were also able to keep the bottle’s weight down to a very respectable 205g, and make sure that its manufacture at the company’s Bad Münder plant in Germany proceeded smoothly and to deadline.

“Consumer research showed that our customers would favour glass packaging for this particular range of beers, and the creation of a distinctive shape and styling has proved very successful in the market,” said Thierry Krombach, marketing director at Bofferding.

The Brasserie Nationale Bofferding is the result of the merger between two family-owned breweries, with the oldest one established in Luxembourg in 1764.Over the centuries, and on account of a long-term strategy based on beer of “impeccable quality”, this small business has grown into the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg’s leading brewery.

Bofferding beer is a 100% natural beer produced from pure malt and hops, without any additives or preservatives.
