Short run digital wine label solutions

The printed quality and appearance of wine labels is extremely important. Professional-quality labels can easily make the difference between a wine selling well or simply sitting on the shelf. The quality of the wine needs to be reflected by the labels used on the bottle.

A cost-effective and convenient way to produce high-quality, full-colour labels can be found, says labelling equipment supplier Primera Technology Europe.

Instead of buying labels from external label manufacturers and ordering large quantities of labels, which can be expensive, Primera offers alternative solutions to producing short-run, full-colour wine labels for either runs of only a few hundred bottles or personalised bottles for special events. For example: a special wedding wine that shows the bride and groom and their wedding date; or a so-called "anniversary wine" when a company celebrates its 25 years of successful business. There are  many applications for short production runs, but they still need to be cost-effective.

A printer that enables producers to print individual full-colour wine labels is the LX900e Color Label Printer by Primera Technology. The LX900e is Primera's fastest inkjet colour label printer. Separate ink cartridges for cyan, magenta, yellow and black keep operating costs low since only one colour at a time needs to be replaced. The semi-permanent print head utilises all-new technology to produce razor-sharp text, brilliant graphics and realistic photo-quality printing.

CX1000e Color Label Printer, the latest addition to Primera's range of industrial label printers, is designed for in-house production of professional-quality product labels. It is ideal for producing short- to medium-run jobs of pre-die cut label material in various sizes. With 2400 dpi print resolution and print speed of 5 meters per minute, CX1000e delivers professional full-colour print quality along with high-speed production.

To make this a complete solution, Primera introduced its new Vintage Paper Material at the London International Wine Fair.  This material (pictured) produces an outstanding quality label and is available for LX-series Label Printers.
