Colonel Pinkster unveils his premium gin

Being launched to the on-trade at Imbibe, London, this week (July2-3) is Pinkster Agreeably British Gin with a refreshing raspberry USP.

Pinkster, a new premium gin brand, with a distinctive raspberry hue and flavour profile is being launched to the trade, following extensive consumer testing.

Distilled by Charles Maxwell at Thames Distillers, fresh raspberries are steeped in the triple distilled spirit giving the gin a deliciously dry yet subtly smooth flavour.

Pinkster, Agreeably British Gin, has been available at Taste Of London and Foodies Festivals across the UK this summer, before rolling out to the trade.

Stephen Marsh, Pinkster's managing director, said: "Pinkster is an idiosyncratic entrant to the burgeoning premium gin category. It's a busy marketplace with some mighty fine gins out there, but our research indicates that there's scope for a new player with a refreshingly different USP."

"Our colour, our flavour profile, and our vibrant branding, is set to give us genuine stand-out. With a target audience of premium spirits drinkers, we believe that we have the potential to broaden the category attracting non-gin drinkers as well as more seasoned consumers."

Whilst Juniper is the essential and dominant botanical of the five, the raspberries ensure a smooth finish. The fruitiness on the nose is balanced and the raspberry scent is gently prevalent on the palate.

Marsh added: "Our bar has been several deep at Foodies Festivals, where we've sold thousands of glasses to discerning consumers, served with Fever-Tree tonic, a raspberry and a sprig of fresh mint."

"The initial passing trade reaction has also been extremely healthy. Celebrity chef Ed Baines is already listing us at his house gin at Randall and Aubin, and mixologists are latching onto Pinkster's quirky cocktail appeal. It makes a mean Martini."

Pinkster is being launched with a strong brand identity created by the Edinburgh-based drinks specialist design agency, Nevis . A charismatic and quirky brand character, Colonel Pinkster, fronts the website www.pinkstergin.com, experiential activity and social media.

The start-up brand was founded by North Hertfordshire based entrepreneur Stephen Marsh and backed by six figure private equity.

Pinkster is available in 70cl bottles (37.5% ABV) with a RRP of £28.00
