Frizzenti on tap to drive Prosecco boom

Prosecco and sparkling wine brand Frizzenti believes it has identified an untapped opportunity for the on-trade to capitalise on the growth of Italian sparkling wines.

The Frizzenti tap dispenser, which serves both Frizzenti Classico and pink sparkling wine Frizzenti Rosato makes the by the glass serve more accessible to consumers. It also ensures a quick and perfect pour and is highly visible to customers.

Frizzenti’s managing director, George Workman says: “Prosecco is the world’s fastest growing sparkling wine with sales nearly doubling in the UK in the past year. Consumers are actively seeking out this Italian sparkling wine so to satisfy demand licensees should ensure they provide a by the glass solution in addition to selling it by the bottle.

“Pubs and bars are naturally concerned about opened bottles losing their sparkle and the potential wastage, but serving it direct from the keg eliminates that risk. The kegs are also reusable which minimises carbon footprint, they guarantee the perfect serve each and every time and ultimately are a great way to boost profits.”

Taking up minimum space either under the bar or in the cellar, the 20 litre keg is easy to install and maintenance and training are provided by Frizzenti. Licensees can create theatre at the bar by serving it in flutes and also extend interest in the cocktail menu, with a wide variety of seasonal drinks served in a range of glassware, including classic cocktails such as the Frizzenti Bellini, historically designed to be served with Prosecco.

Suitable for all types of on trade outlet including hotels, restaurants, pubs and bars, Frizzenti wines are from the Veneto region and are ideal served as an aperitif and with food. Together with a selection of bubbly cocktails they can be found at a growing selection of outlets across the UK priced at approximately £4-£5 per 125ml glass. They are available directly from Frizzenti or wholesalers including Majestic Commercial.

Frizzenti Classico is made from Glera grapes and produced in stainless steel vats using the classic Charmat method. It is a young and light sparkling wine with an ABV of 10.5%, has intense primary aromas and tastes fresh and light. Frizzenti Rosato is made from Pinot Nero and Raboso grapes and has an ABV of 10.5%. Smooth and tangy on the palate, it has a fruity bouquet with a raspberry note.
