New wine in new style single serve goblets

The new Fetzer Quartz and Crimson wine range was developed when winemaker Dennis Martin was challenged to create something inherently Californian – a wine that tapped into the sociable, easy-going, contemporary and untraditional vibe that is brand North California. He has produced two unique blends he likes to refer to as an assemblage of ‘Fetzer’s Greatest Hits’. The packaging and marketing of the wine aims to capture the spirit of San Francisco.

The wines are available in 75cl bottles with an RRP of £10.99, but also in unique PET goblets.

Fetzer Zipz glass was a collaborative venture between Fetzer Vineyards and Centerplate, one of the largest hospitality companies in the world, with over 300 sports, entertainment and convention venues in North America and the UK. Centreplate needed a single-serve solution for premium wine.

The unique trophy-shaped tumbler was developed specifically for the baseball season in the US and was successfully launched at the start of the season in stadiums where Centerplate is caterering. It is made of clear PET decorated with a full-body printed sleeve. A hermetically sealed foil lid is topped with a plastic lid, which can be used to cover the wine after opening or used as a coaster. One of the container’s advantages over existing formats on the market is that it is completely sealed, therefore more hygienic, and the shelf life is considerably longer at 12 months.

Centerplate has acquired the Lindley Group in the UK and while the launch of the product in the US was focused specifically around sports stadiums, the company believes are endless occasions for which the product would be a great fit – travel retail and on-board catering, concert venues, festivals, cinemas and the convenience sector, to name but a few. “We are very excited by the results of the project and feel Fetzer Zipz opens a door for wine-lovers to be enjoying premium wine at events or on the move.”
