Alex Turner joins Coe Vintners

Alex Turner will join spirits wholesaler Coe Vintners in London at the end of August as head of its advocacy division.  

In his new role Alex will be working with Coe Vintners customers to maximise their spirits offering and increase their profitability behind the bar.

Matt Davies Coe Vintners MD says: “This is a further step in our long term plan to consolidate and expand our position as the leading independent spirits wholesaler in London and the South-East. Sales support for our customers is very much part of the Coe Vintners offering, and I’m delighted that Alex will be joining us to take this to the next level.”

Coe Vintners, which boasts a turnover in excess of £55 million, has seen year-on-year business growth over the past five years. In this new role Turner will develop and oversee WSET Spirits training programmes for Coe Vintners customers’ as well as provide category training and spirits master classes for Coe’s employees. He will be responsible for advising on global spirits trends and new products for the company’s portfolio.

Alex has worked in the UK drinks industry for over 25 years. He has been influential in making London the global capital of cocktails, having served at some of the UK’s most influential bars including Dick’s Bar at Atlantic Bar & Grill, Circus as well as creating the LAB bar. He has run the renowned training team for Bacardi Brown-Forman Brands (BBFB) since 2007, delivering a broad range of training from spirit categories to sales techniques as well as developing a range of drink solutions for some of the UK’s largest on trade accounts.
