Toussaint coffee liqueur has been relaunched with a new-look bottle and an improved recipe and is now available to the trade.
Owned by Quintessential Brands, this well-respected super premium brand, made with high quality Arabica coffee beans and aged Caribbean rum, has been re-introduced to the UK market distributed via Marblehead Brand Development.
Toussaint coffee liqueur was first developed in Haiti in the late 1970s by Anker Horn and launched across Europe in premium & leading on- and off-trade accounts. Having been a bartender’s favourite, considerable success has already been achieved with Toussaint pre-listings in key on and off trade accounts across the UK.
Anker Horn comments: “I am delighted that the brand I created when I was in Haiti is back in the UK market and really look forward to seeing it grow again. I was originally inspired by the wonderful coffee and exciting story behind Haiti’s hero - the Haitian slave leader - Toussaint L’Ouverture and I’m happy that Quintessential Brands is carrying on developing the brand I began.”
Toussaint was first developed in Haiti and is now produced in the G&J Distillers distillery in England, which has over 250 years’ experience distilling premium spirits. Production has moved to the UK to ensure a reliable supply and consistent quality.
G&J Distillers’ master distiller Joanne Moore, worked on the evolution of the recipe for the new Toussaint. Joanne has brought up the coffee notes using quality Arabica coffee and has added aged Caribbean rum. She had ten rums to choose from and selected a three year old rum as well as spending time with a coffee-smith to select the finest Arabica coffee.
Toussaint coffee liqueur: RRP £19.50 for 50cl. 30%ABV.
