Angostura has announced the launch of No.1, the first in a new collection of limited edition premium rums.
Bottled at 40% and aged in special casks, Angostura No.1 is the first premium rum to be introduced in the new Cask Collection, which is entirely dedicated to rums made in special barrels. A blend of carefully selected rums, aged from 10 to 12 years, the liquid was left for an additional 12 months in first fill bourbon casks.
Only 9,600 bottles of No.1 are available globally, UK RRP £38.99
All Angostura rums are aged in American oak casks that were once used for aging bourbon. As the rum matures - the interaction of the liquid and the oak results in a mellow well-balanced rum – a smoothness that is characteristic of Angostura’s blends.
The House of Angostura is known for its bitters and rum-making heritage and is the only rum distillery in Trinidad today. Alison Gibb, Angostura International brand manager, says, “We are already seeing huge interest from consumers and undoubtedly the popularity of quality approved rum is on the increase as enthusiasts look for standout taste and an exceptional finish.
“It’s the first Angostura premium rum to be aged in our first fill bourbon barrels and we are confident that this initial interest will continue to grow as the collection expands.”
