Pentagon gift box designed for Bollinger

Professional Packaging Services has produced a pentagon gift box for Bollinger Special Cuvée  Champagne.

Produced in time for the Christmas market, the gift box showcases the Special Cuvée in an original way to provide it with eye-catching shelf appeal at the time of year when brands are vying for attention.

The five sided gift box has an ingenious opening mechanism. Instead of using magnets, the famous Bollinger lettering has been removed on the right hand side, creating a stencil effect, while the letters on the left hand side have been embossed. When the two come together, the embossed lettering fits perfectly into the stencil effect, providing an unusual closure.

When closed the box displays Bollinger’s brand colours with four sides of the box printed red, with a narrow strip displaying the famous gold name, standing proud through the embossed lettering, against a white background.

When opened, the interior is printed gold to enhance the luxurious feel and exclusivity of the gift.

The box is also made entirely of recyclable cardboard.

Commenting on the design, Emily Hutchinson, European account manager of PPS, said: “Having produced new and innovative presentation packaging for Bollinger over the last three years, we are proud that we have been able to provide this globally recognised luxury brand with yet another unique and eye-catching gift box.

“We have an extremely talented team who worked closely with the Paris-based concept agency, Sparkle Design Agency, to design the construction and then liaised closely with the manufacturers to ensure the complicated design worked perfectly, with the letters fitting tightly into one another.”

PPS, which was established in 1979, specialises in bespoke gift and presentation packaging across the confectionary, drinks, fragrance and gift markets. In May this year it was acquired by InnerWorkings a leading global marketing supply chain company, servicing corporate clients across a wide range of industries. With a head office in Chicago it has 49 offices worldwide and employs approximately 1400 people.
