Glengoyne Highland single malt Scotch whisky has unveiled a 25yo bottling, matured in exclusively 100% first fill sherry casks, which will be exclusive to global travel retail.
The heavy weight moulded bespoke bottle with engraved oak/metal cork stopper is presented in an oak wood case and card outer.
Andy Lane, travel retail director for brand owner Ian Macleod Distillers, says this addition to the Glengoyne travel retail range, which includes the Cask Strength, 15yo Distillers Gold, 18yo and 21yo malts, “is an extremely special malt”.
“Matured for 25 years in 100% prestigious first fill European oak sherry casks and bottled at 46%ABV, it is a perfect balance of fine oak, traditional skills and barley dried by air, never peat, resulting in a flavour of complex spices and rich toffee with a finish that lingers long after the final drop.”
Unlike most other single malt whiskies, Glengoyne dries its malted barley using only warm air resulting in this extremely subtle yet complex malt where all the delicate flavours are freely expressed.
The Glengoyne Distillery - highly regarded as Scotland’s most beautiful distillery in Dumgoyne near Loch Lomond – runs its stills slower than any other distillery, supporting the claim that Glengoyne genuinely is “Worth the Wait”.
Travel retail price €375.00/£300/US$470.00.
