Rare sweet and smoky Cù Bòcan released

Following the release of Cù Bòcan Highland single malt Scotch whisky at the end of last year, Tomatin Distillery has released its first limited edition expression for the range. This Cù Bòcan features another stunning design by Pocket Rocket Creative.

The whisky has been created from Casks 37470, 37471 and 37472 which have been “lurking quietly in Warehouse 9 at Tomatin Distillery since a rare and unintentional production of peated whisky occurred on June 7, 1989”, explains Jennifer Nicol, marketing manager for Tomatin Distillery.  Now the “beast has been unleashed”, she says, “in this sweet and smoky rare edition of Cù Bòcan”.

This limited edition has been matured in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at cask strength, non chill filtered and natural colour. The smoke is more prominent than in the standard edition but retains the instantly recognisable sweetness.

Just 1080 bottles will be available worldwide (except in the US) from this month at an RRP of £199.99 per 70cl bottle.
