UK spirits brand distributor Marblehead, now owned by Quintessential Brands, is to distribute Mahiki Coconut Rum in the UK and Ireland.
Mahiki Coconut is a coconut rum liqueur that "captures the escapist fun of Mahiki," the world famous Tiki nightclub in London. Mahiki Coconut is made using rum from the Foursquare distillery in Barbados.
The agreement with Piers Adams, owner of Mahiki Night Club and Brompton Brands Bars, will take immediate effect and will cover both the on and off-trade.
Pier Adams says: "The UK and Ireland provide an exciting opportunity for a young and fresh brand like Mahiki Rum to appeal to a new generation of coconut rum drinkers. The Mahiki brand is known internationally and that coupled with the unique and exciting plans we have in place provide a fantastic springboard for us in these markets. Given Marblehead’s proven track record of building brands, we feel that they are the perfect partner.”
Emma Wykes, MD of Marblehead, says: "We are excited to be working with Piers again on this internationally renowned brand and this confirms Marblehead's place in the industry as an independent, brand-building distributor. We have a strong portfolio of brands with integrity and Mahiki Coconut Rum will complement it very well as a rum brand with such an exciting and acclaimed reputation."
International drinks group, Quintessential Brands, has today announced the acquisition of Marblehead, the UK-based brand development and distribution company. Marblehead and Quintessential Brands have operated as partners since July 2013. The acquisition ensures Marblehead’s continued success as an agency with a portfolio of premium brands, distributed via its well-established network in the on-trade and prestige off-trade.
