The new super-premium Slow-Aged white sipping rum offers a trade-up for white spirits shoppers in global travel retail stores.
Flor de Caña, the Slow-Aged rum of Nicaragua, has launched Blanco Reserva 7, a super-premium aged white rum that is said to be “exceptional for sipping on the rocks, or with a splash of sparkling water and a twist of orange”.
The rum, which retails for US$25, features the elegant new package design that Flor de Caña recently introduced across its brand portfolio in response to its growing worldwide popularity. Flor de Caña rums have been distilled and traditionally crafted from estate-grown sugar cane by the same family in Nicaragua since 1890. Long the most popular rum in Central America, Flor de Caña has seen a double-digit growth per year over the past decade and is now available in 40 countries.
“Flor de Caña’s new Blanco Reserva 7 will expand our consumer base by offering a super-premium white rum that provides a richer drinking experience,” said Robert Collins, managing director of Flor de Caña. “Blanco Reserva 7 complements our premiumisation strategy and continues to position Flor de Cana as a high-quality slow-aged sipping rum.”
Flor de Caña Blanco Reserva 7 is slow-aged for seven years and then filtered for a crystal-clear colour. The taste is described as full-bodied, smooth and creamy with a sweetly floral nose and a hint of vanilla.
The new rum will launch in August 2014 in duty free outlets globally including Mexico and Central America.
