William Grant & Sons has appointed Kevin Abrook, currently global marketing manager for whisky innovation, as its first global whisky specialist, innovation. Kevin will officially start his role September 1, 2014.
The family owned company says this bespoke role demonstrates the it’s continued commitment to whisky innovation and to the importance of advocacy.
In his new role, Kevin will visit markets to “excite, inform and educate” both trade and consumers about the company’s latest innovations. The brands currently in the portfolio are Kininvie, The Girvan Patent Still and William Grant & Sons’ Rare Cask Reserves.
Kevin has over 20 years experience in the drinks industry where he has developed a broad knowledge and passion for whisky. His experience as global marketing manager included developing and launching Kininvie single malt, the first house release from the distillery since 1990 and The Girvan Patent Still single grain Scotch whisky; a brand that champions a third category in Scotch whisky – single grain.
