Vinexpo boosts team with two new directors

Vinexpo, the world’s biggest wine and spirits exhibition, has appointed two new directors. Mathieu Vanhalst will head up sales and Richard Guyon will lead the marketing department for the Bordeaux-based organisation.

Mathieu Vanhalst takes over Vinexpo’s sales department having benefited from seven years’ experience at the TFWA (Tax Free World Association), which organises the leading duty free and travel retail exhibitions in Cannes and Singapore.

At 33 years of age, Vanhalst has a solid background in events organisation and wines and spirits, which will be put to good use at the helm of Vinexpo’s sales development in France and internationally.

Joining Vinexpo as marketing director, 35 year-old Richard Guyon comes with experience of the premium hospitality and tourism sector gained through the renowned Relais & Châteaux network.

A graduate of Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, Guyon has a sound knowledge of the luxury sector, enabling him to promote the Vinexpo exhibitions with visitors and to improve their experience when they attend, through setting up strategic partnerships and organising special Vinexpo evenings.

The new appointments come during a period of development for Vinexpo exhibitions in France and worldwide.

The first Vinexpo Nippon is to be held in Tokyo on 1 & 2 November 2014, while the next Vinexpo Bordeaux exhibition, which will take place from 14-18 June 2015, will feature some significant changes.
