Alcoholic iced tea designed for grownups

Handmade in limited batches, Harry Brompton’s Alcoholic Ice Tea is made in London from the finest ethically sourced Kenyan black teas, crisp craft-distilled vodka and infused with natural citrus. The drink is lightly sparkling at 4%ABV and is best served in a tall glass with plenty of ice and a wedge of lime.

The family-run company behind the drink is father and son team, Martin and Ian O’Donohue. Ian, a former oil broker, started experimenting with Ice Tea recipes at his kitchen table in 2009, after being inspired by the refreshing drink in his wife’s native Atlanta, Georgia. Not prepared to settle for the mediocre offerings already available on the market, Ian decided the only way forward was to create his own perfect Ice Tea. A keen mixologist, he started to form recipes and began experimenting with different teas and flavours to create a grown up version of the classic drink with a British twist.

“After water, tea is the most widely consumed beverage in the world and in the US over 85% of that is Ice Tea,” commented Ian.  “Ice Tea is a rapidly growing trend in the UK and I wanted to create a drink that British people can be proud of, tea is a national institution after all... We are looking forward to introducing people to just how refreshing and delicious Harry Brompton's Ice Tea is!”

The character of tea is similar to the grapes in wine, the flavours are influenced by the elevation of the garden it is grown in, soil quality, the weather and of course the quality of the picking. A special blend of the finest black teas grown over two thousand metres above sea level in the deep rich soils of Kenya’s Great Rift Valley is the key ingredient for Harry Brompton’s.

Harry Brompton’s Alcoholic Ice Tea contains no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and is gluten free. It is currently available at Waitrose, Ocado and larger Sainsbury stores.
