Buffalo Trace gift pack offered in Makro

A Buffalo Trace bourbon gift pack is available to retailers through wholesaler Makro in the run-up to the peak gifting season. 

The pack includes a 70cl bottle of the 40% ABV Bourbon, along with a branded metal Julep cup and a cocktail recipe book. Targeting growing consumer interest in authentic American whiskies, the gift pack has an RSP of £26.99.

Dan Bolton, managing director of distributor Hi-Spirits, says: “Consumers are increasingly favouring bourbon over Scotch, attracted by both the flavour and versatility. The free cocktail book will enable the recipient to make an authentic Mint Julep as well other classic drinks.”  

Figures from Nielsen show that sales of American whiskey grew by 15.3% in the off-trade in the year to year to April 26 2014, while 51% of consumers have bought spirits as a gift.
