Patrón Spirits International, the leader in the global ultra-premium tequila category, has introduced a limited-edition keepsake tin for Patrón Añejo tequila that celebrates the Year of the Sheep, 2015 Chinese New Year.
Available in global duty free, and in select domestic markets, this unique collector’s item features illustrations by Chinese artist Peach Tao who drew her inspiration for the design from the classic Chinese proverb ‘three rams bring bliss’.
The beautifully embossed tin depicts goddesses around a lotus flower (to represent good luck), along with images of modern and traditional China, symbols of the New Year (lanterns, a ship, and the phoenix), and a leaping sheep on the lid (reflecting a wish for a year of happiness and prosperity). The artist also added subtle nods to the bottle inside, including an agave plant and the iconic Patrón bee.
“Duty free shoppers enjoy finding distinctive luxury products, and unique and relevant gift ideas, when they visit travel retail. This new eye-catching tin not only celebrates the Chinese New Year holiday, it’s also a wonderful way to remember the year, long after the bottle has been enjoyed,” says Dave Wilson, president and global CEO at Patrón Spirits.
The red keepsake gift tin is accented in black and gold, and features a removable lid that when closed, resembles the shape and size of the Patrón box that has quickly become an icon in the ultra-premium spirits category. After the bottle is removed, the tin becomes a conversation piece, souvenir box for any number of secondary uses.
