Originally established in 2008, L’Atelier Prestige is being refreshed with a new image to pay tribute to the quality of the wines and to honour the winegrowers who produce them.
L’Atelier Prestige comprises Les Vignobles Foncalieu’s premium Grands Vins collection of wines. Each wine is produced within a specific terroir and the collection represents the ultimate expression of the Grand Sud.
The new labels highlight the passion and involvement of the winegrowers behind the collection and the artisanal work that goes into creating the balance and freshness which the wines have become known for.
The new bottles will launch on the 20 January 2015.
Les Vignobles Foncalieu
Les Vignobles Foncalieu is a French wine cooperative, which was founded in 1967, becoming a Union of Cooperatives in 1992. It is dedicated to protecting and promoting the winemaking heritage of the South of France. It’s the only union of cooperatives with a presence in all of the winemaking departments of the Grand Sud region.
L’Atelier Prestige
The tale of the Atelier Prestige de Foncalieu is one of a handful of producers working together to reach new heights and strive for excellence. In this sunny climate in the south of France, they cherish their land to produce results that stir and inspire us: artisanal work to enhance the fruit and create concentrated wines with remarkable balance and freshness.
The Collection
Le Lien, AOC Minervois, produced in a limited edition of 2,400 bottles, is a wine born of long
standing friendship between winemakers Luc Torrecilla and Pascal Bergé who first met at school. Le Lien is their shared treasure, a treasure they are passing on to Romain, Luc’s son, so that the fruits of their expertise are never lost.
L’Apogée, AOC Saint-Chinian, produced in a limited edition of 8,500 bottles. This wine is an expression of the ties that bind a man to his terroir. Michel Cazevieille and Sébastien Roubichou have poured their hearts and souls into this excellent red, produced in Saint Chinian.
Les Illustres, IPG Coteaux d’Ensérune, produced in a limited edition of 19,000 bottles, achieves true excellence thanks to the work of the eight winemakers who contribute their efforts and their personal flair. This is a unique cuvée that draws its energy through the ancient silos dug by the Romans out of the soft rock of molasses at the Oppidum d’Ensérune, the famous archaeological site listed as a ‘Monument National de France’.
La Lumière, AOC Corbières, produced in a limited edition of 6,400 bottles, is a wine carefully sculpted by three friends, Gilles Ferrand, Fabrice Oliver and Marceau Lacombe. With yields as low as 15 hl/ha, this 70% Syrah, 30% Mourvèdre demonstrates why the Corbières terroir has been elevated to its own appellation.
Isabelle Pangault, the winemaker and brand ambassador at Les Vignobles Foncalieu, says: “We’re very proud of the new label and artwork for L’Atelier Prestige, which we feel reflects the style and quality of the bottle’s contents. It’s a privilege to see the passion of the wine growers in action daily and we’re as excited as ever to present this excellent wine.”
