Edinburgh Gin has introduced a new flavour in time for St Valentine’s day gift giving. The limited edition gin displays floral notes and a pink hue from an infusion of rose petals and hibiscus.
The Valentine’s Day Gin was developed at the Edinburgh Gin distillery in partnership with Heriot-Watt University School of Distilling, which the distillery has an ongoing relationship with.
Alex Nicol, managing director of Spencerfield Spirit that owns Edinburgh Gin, says: “We love to create innovative flavours that are inspired by seasonality so there couldn’t be a better excuse to make Edinburgh’s Valentine’s Gin. This is the first batch we have created and we’re excited about producing a gift idea that is truly unforgettable“.
“We’ve gone for a floral approach with this flavour, specifically encapsulating the spirit of Valentine’s Day. The gin contains notes of chamomile, lemongrass and lime leaf and our labels have been specifically designed to suit the season.“
Only 300 bottles have been made which are available from the Edinburgh Gin Distillery or online at edinburghgindistillery.co.uk, at £35/70cl and £15/20cl bottle.
Edinburgh Gin’s new distillery is located beneath the Rutland Hotel at Edinburgh’s west end. Handcrafted in small batches with Scottish juniper berries, pine, heather and nine other selected botanicals, the distinctive gins are bottled in Edinburgh at 43% ABV.
As well as the new Valentine’s Day Gin, Spencerfield also has an original Edinburgh Gin, Cannonball Gin, Edinburgh Gin Raspberry Liqueur and Elderflower Liqueur. Christmas Gin was also exclusively produced to celebrate the festive season.
