Lizzie Bailey is new distiller at Hayman

Hayman Distillers, the oldest gin distilling family in England, has appointed Lizzie Bailey as distiller.

Lizzie Bailey joins Hayman’s with a first-class honours degree in Brewing and Distilling from the International Centre for Brewing and Distilling at Heriot-Watt University, the UK’s leading distillation teaching and research facility. Lizzie is responsible for distilling Hayman’s range of award winning gins.

James Hayman, managing director of Hayman Distillers, says: “As a family with a long heritage in distilling it is right that we support and provide opportunities to the new generation of distillers and we have a lot of respect for the brewing and distilling course at Heriot Watt University. When looking for a new distiller we were fortunate to find Lizzie, as she already possesses an excellent knowledge of distillation. We look forward to her working on Hayman’s Gin as well as other projects we have as Hayman Distillers.”

Bailey says: “I am extremely pleased to be joining such a prestigious gin company. Both working with the team and putting my knowledge built up over my time at ICBD into practice are incredibly exciting prospects.”

The company is now run by the fifth generation of the Hayman family, James and Miranda Hayman. Hayman’s produces an award winning range of six different styles from the gin family, which includes Hayman’s London Dry Gin, Hayman’s Old Tom Gin, Hayman’s Sloe Gin, Hayman’s Family Reserve, Royal Dock Navy Strength, and Hayman’s Gin Liqueur.
