Now in its twentieth year, the Isle of Arran Distillery has bottled the final malt in its 16, 17 and 18 year-old trilogy, the first official Arran 18 Year Old Single Malt. This oldest commercial release of The Arran Malt has been matured in a selection of ex-sherry Hogsheads and bottled at 46%abv with no artificial colouring or chill-filtration.
James MacTaggart, master distiller at the Isle of Arran Distillery, says: “2015 is a special year for the distillery. We’re celebrating our twentieth anniversary and with it the bottling of our most mature whisky yet; we feel a very appropriate way to mark our birthday.”
Only 9,000 bottles of The Arran 18 Year Old Single Malt have been released worldwide, and with Isle of Arran Malts rising in popularity in territories such as Canada, Australia and Japan, demand promises to be high, the distillery says.
This latest limited edition of The Arran Malt will be available in specialist whisky retailers and a small quantity will be available directly from www.arranwhisky.com from Monday 16 March 2015.
