Vente-privee.com, the online flash sales website, has appointed Sally Scott to the newly-created position of UK managing director. Sally will oversee Vente-privee’s activities in the UK, both B2B and B2C related. Her appointment marks a new stage for Vente-privee’s growth in the UK; a market of increasing importance for the company (see also news feature: Vente-privee.com UK site launches wine sector and interview with co-founder Xavier Court).
A native of Toronto Canada, Sally began her career in the Old Masters Department of Sotheby’s in London after completing her BA in Art History and Italian from the University of Toronto. After four years in the art world, she transitioned into fashion magazines, working for titles such as ELLE and Harper’s Bazaar as promotions director over a seven-year period. In 1999, upon returning to Toronto, she was hired as promotions director for Holt Renfrew and worked her way up to the position of marketing director. Holt Renfrew’s owner Galen Weston then invited her to return to London in 2005 to be the marketing director for his newest luxury department store acquisition; Selfridges. After six years spent at the helm of marketing for Selfridges, Sally Scott joined the luxury shopping village outlet group Value Retail in 2011 as marketing director.
