Kopparberg launches the first frozen cider

Kopparberg has turned its attention to the rising trend for frozen beverages with the launch of the first frozen cider - Kopparberg Frozen Fruit Cider.

Available in Strawberry & Lime and Elderflower & Lime flavours, the drink provides a mix of fruity flavours and refreshment and sits neatly alongside the brand’s current range of premium Swedish ciders.

On the shelves from May via a number of off-trade retailers with a RRP of £2.99, Kopparberg Frozen Fruit Cider 4% abv offers a unique Swedish twist on the rising American trend for frozen drinks as it hits shelves in time for summer.

Packaged in a nifty 250ml metallic pouch, the cider should be frozen for eight hours then squeezed into a glass and garnished with either a wedge of lime for the classic favourite, Strawberry & Lime, or a cooling slice of cucumber to compliment the fresh and floral Elderflower & Lime. Then enjoyed with a spoon or wide straw.

Inspired by an April Fool’s prank shared with the Kopparberg online community, Kopparberg Frozen Fruit Cider is influenced by fans. With a prank revealing a Kopparberg ice-lolly quickly turning into a national phenomenon, Kopparberg re-imagined the icy creation into a refreshing adult drink fans would love.

Jodie Alliss, brand manager at Kopparberg says:  “The demand for a frozen variation of Kopparberg was outstanding so we’re thrilled to be able to launch the new product for summer 2015. Offering the ultimate summer refreshment and resonating with a slightly older audience, Kopparberg Frozen Fruit Cider takes the brand’s offering to the next level. We’ll be supporting the launch with PR and social media from spring into summer.”
