First UK-based mobile bottling line

The first UK-based mobile bottling line, which arrived in April, has already filled over 150,000 bottles of English wine, with bookings for a further 500,000 in the next few weeks.  As the English wine industry goes from strength, demand for this kind of service is growing.

Sussex-based BevTech offers the services of an automated bottling and labelling line from the Italian manufacturer, GAI, suppliers of internationally renowned premium quality equipment for the wine industry.

The line, chosen by winemaker David Cowderoy, MD of BevTech, fills both still and sparkling wines, with a full range of closures; cork, screw cap and crown cap, as well as capsuling and labelling. Fill speeds are up to 3,000 bottles per hour. It is operated by experienced winemakers, who are able to assist in preparation and bottling ensuring wine quality is maintained and dissolved oxygen pick up is very low.

Charlie Holland, winemaker at Gusbourne Estate in Kent, says: “BevTech offer a highly efficient, professional and top quality mobile bottling service. The state-of-the-art bottling line and the accompanying highly-skilled operator enable a quick, secure and stress-free bottling, preserving wine quality.”
