McGuigan launches new sparkling wine

Award-winning Australian winery McGuigan launched a sparkling wine -McGuigan Frizzante Extra Dry - at the London International Wine Fair (May 18-20). The wine, introduced to the trade by chief winemaker Neil McGuigan, is a light style of sparkling with soft lemon and apple fruit characters, which will be available across the UK and Ireland from May with an RSP of £7.99.

The new sparkling wine is a reflection of McGuigan Wines’ philosophy, which is to create wines that reflect what consumers like to drink. Based on the double digit growth of sparkling wines in the past 12 months in the UK, the time was right for McGuigan Wines to create an Australian product in line with the rising demand, while continuing to produce other quality wines at reasonable prices.

Comments Neil McGuigan: “We are delighted to launch McGuigan Frizzante as a new addition to our sparkling wines portfolio. We wanted to create a high quality wine with an easy drinking style at the right price point, and the result of those efforts, McGuigan Frizzante, is a credit to our winemakers.”

After the tremendous success of last year’s event, McGuigan again hosted a BBQ on the Monday afternoon of LIWF to celebrate the launch of McGuigan Frizzante. “We are thrilled to support and attend London International Wine Fair”, says Julian Dyer, general manager Australian Vintage, UK & Europe.  “Thinking ahead, we would like our BBQ to become a set fixture in people’s diaries”.

McGuigan Wines’ parent company, Australian Vintage, exhibited at stand W35 this year, presenting its core product portfolio from McGuigan, Tempus Two and Nepenthe wines, as well as new product developments.
