Tullamore D.E.W. shows the power of three

William Grant & Sons distillery Tullamore D.E.W. has launched Tullamore D.E.W. Trilogy. The pinnacle of the Tullamore D.E.W. range, this very small batch of triple distilled, triple blend whiskey is matured in three different types of wood to deliver a premium Irish whiskey of distinct character and taste.

The three woods used for Tullamore D.E.W. Trilogy include rum casks, a first for Tullamore D.E.W. By maturing whiskey in a combination of traditional refill, ex-Bourbon and ex-oloroso sherry casks and finishing it in carefully selected rum casks, this new blend delivers a complex yet smooth taste.

Reflecting its position at the top of the Tullamore D.E.W range of triple distilled, triple blends, the packaging is black and carries a specially designed Trilogy symbol to denote triple distilled, triple blend, triple wood.

Tullamore D.E.W. Trilogy (40%abv) is available in Dublin airport and selected outlets around the world.

About the Tullamore Distillery

Tullamore Distillery is located on a 58-acre site in Clonminch, on the outskirts of County Offaly. The location provides a good supply of quality, soft spring water from the nearby Slieve Bloom Mountains. The distillery is the first to be built on a greenfield site in Ireland in over 100 years and produces 1.84mla of triple distilled pot still and malt whiskey annually – the equivalent of 511,000 (9litre) cases per year. This figure is set to double by 2018.

Led by William Grant & Sons’ head engineer, John Stevenson, the result of the €35 million investment is something distinctly Tullamore D.E.W. The Spirit Safe is uniquely designed in a triangular shape, referencing Tullamore D.E.W.’s complex triple distilled, triple blend of all three types of Irish whiskey, while also paying tribute to the Grant family’s coat of arms which features its own trio of crowns.
