Underberg reveals latest in gift tin collection

Since 2005 the gift tin collection has conveyed the message of ‘culinary trips around the world’, with a different theme each year. The 2016 Underberg tin containing 12 x 20ml portion bottles each wrapped in straw coloured paper, features the Olympic Games venue.  For the first time, the host city is shown exclusively – Rio de Janeiro. With highly detailed artwork, the tin displays a 360 degree panoramic view of the city on the high-quality embossed metal and using seven-colour offset printing.

The four panels of the tin show a selection of the city’s cultural, scenic and architectural uniqueness. The Panorama begins with the annual carnival in Rio, a multi-coloured parade of samba schools; one of the largest parades in the world. Images of the Sambódromo and a gorgeously-costumed samba dancer also adorn the narrow side of the tin.

The first wide side features the landmarks of Rio de Janeiro; the Sugar Loaf, the 38 meter high statue of Christ at the summit of Corcovado and the Copacabana beach area; one of the most famous beaches in the world.

The next scene displays the famous Teatro Municipal, the "Santa Teresa" art district, including its well-known tram called Bonde, as well as the colourful favelas. The modernist Metropolitan Cathedral and the futuristic Contemporary Art Museum convey the modern side of Rio.

The second wide panel shows the culinary side of Rio with its variety and colours. Surrounded by the fauna and flora of the countryside stands a richly-decorated table with the typical Churrasco from the charcoal grill and a feijoada, a rustic bean dish. The Bar Scene of Rio is extremely vibrant and diverse. The most popular drinks of the cariocas (locals) include Rio Negro, a mixture of Brasilberg with tonic and the Caipirinha.

Underberg is a natural product. It is free of added sugars, contains less than 1 bread unit per portion-bottle; it is also gluten free and low in histamines. Underberg is available worldwide in the unmistakable portion-sized bottle wrapped in straw coloured paper.

The new gift tin will be on display on the Underberg stand at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes (October 18-23).
