Distillerie Berta has come up with a Christmas gift idea to help the traditional craftsmen in the Piedmont region and the unemployed people who are willing to learn a craft.
The SoloPerGian grappa, produced by Distillerie Berta, takes its name from its namesake not-for-profit foundation, which was founded this year and named after the recently deceased co-owner of the company, Gianfranco Berta. The aim of the foundation is to help the rural development of the Asti territory and preserve its traditional jobs.
The proceeds from the sale of each bottle or 100-litre barrel of SoloPerGian grappa will be used to support the foundation’s projects.
SoloPerGian is a blend of the three flagship grappas Tre Soli Tre (grappa di Nebbiolo), Roccanivo (Barbera) e Bric del Gaian (Moscato). This unique distillate is aged for eight years in 1,000 litres tonneau and then for two years in small 100-litre barrels to enhance the aromas.
Every package is personalised with a parchment with all the information about the origin and goals of the foundation.
