Deanston launches cask strength 20YO

Scotch whisky producer Deanston, which is owned by Burn Stewart Distillers, has added a hand-crafted single malt to its portfolio. Deanston Oloroso 20 Year Old is a limited edition expression bottled at cask strength after maturing for 20 years at the Perthshire distillery in ex-Oloroso sherry casks.

The packaging, label and carton, embodies Deanston’s traditional look and feel, and is reminiscent of the earthy colours of the Oloroso casks.

Alison Gibb, global marketing manager at Burn Stewart Distillers says: “The rich, creamy, spicy influences imparted by the wood from the ex-Oloroso sherry casks give this malt a truly special character and we’re excited to announce its release in time for the festive season.”

Former cotton mill Deanston Distillery has been producing handcrafted, natural colour Highland single malt whisky on the banks of the River Teith since 1966. The metre-thick stone walls of the distillery’s warehouse help to create the perfect conditions to ensure a smooth, even maturation year round.

Like all of the brand’s malts, Deanston Oloroso 20 Year Old has been crafted without the aid of modern technology, using only the finest Scottish ingredients, including barley grown in the local fields and soft water from the River Teith. The unchill-filtered liquid retains all of its natural flavour and character.

Deanston Oloroso 20 Year Old is 55.3% ABV and has an RRP of £110.
